Champagne Henri Giraud Argonne 2013 with Gift Box
Appellation: Champagne AOC
Grape Varieties: 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay
The Argonne 2013 by Henri Giraud is the most important Cuvée Prestige of the Maison and can be considered an evolution of the multi vintage Fût de Chêne, the result of an assemblage of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, from the best vineyards in Ay, classified as 100% Grand Cru. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests for a year in oak barriques from the Argonne forest, and later 7 more years in the bottle on its yeasts. Each bottle is numbered and contained in a beautiful wooden box with a dedication. To make it even better, a "brace" closes the cork. Intense Champagne Brut, full, complex, elegant and mineral.

WA 97+ Wine Advocate
The 2013 Brut Grand Cru Aÿ Argonne is the latest in a series of superb releases from Giraud. Unwinding in the glass with notes of buttered toast, crisp yellow orchard fruit, honeycomb, warm spices and ripe stone fruits, it's full-bodied, deep and vinous, with a layered core of concentrated fruit, incisive acids and an elegant pearly mousse. Long and penetrating, it's finer-boned than its richer, more muscular 2012 predecessor; but like that more structured wine, it will reward bottle age.
