Allegrini Corte Giara Ripasso Valpolicella DOC 2020

Description

Corte Giara is the negociant label of Allegrini. The wines are made by Allegrini from fruit bought in from outside their own vineyards. As a result, the wines have a similar stamp of quality to the Allegrini wines, something that sets them aside from most of the Veronese wines produced at this level. Franco Allegrini is of course the master of Valpolicella, so it is not surprising that the Cortegiara Ripasso and Amarone are so good.

Intense and inviting ruby red in colour. The characteristic hints of cherry and pepper are particularly enjoyable in this wine, and are then followed by subtle herb nuances. Dry and well-balanced. The traditional acidic note combines well with the softness of the fruit to form a satisfying contrast and produce a supple, feisty wine.

Grape Variety Corvina Veronese 70%, Rondinella 30%

Brilliant ruby red, flavours of raisins in the nose, combined with intensive cherry and spice flavours in the depth. On the palate a surprising game of sweetness and acidity produces liveliness, nearly freshness.
