Description
Disgorged in March 2018, the latest installment of the NV Extra Brut Rosé Premier Cru from Gonet-Medeville unfurls in the glass with an attractive nose of blood orange, licorice, gingerbread and red berries. On the palate, this Champagne is medium to full-bodied, racy and vinous, with a fine but youthfully frothy mousse, tangy acids and a dry, saline finish. It's a serious, gastronomic rosé that will work well with food.
Rating and reviews
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
Exotic ground spice and hoppy, floral accents mix with flavours of raw almond, fleur de sel, cherry and lemon zest in this dry, well-knit Champagne. Finely balanced, with a lasting finish.
Stephen Tanzer: 90 Points
Pale onion skin colour. Spicy, floral citrus fruits and redcurrant on the incisive nose. Sharply delineated blood orange and bitter red berry skin flavours are complemented by notes of white pepper and mace, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Closes dry and tight, with echoing spiciness and very good persistence.
