Chateau La Louviere Pessac-Leognan 2014
Château La Louvière has more than one charm to offer: a sumptuous architectural heritage dating from the end of the 18th century, but also a wine-growing history dating back more than 700 years. If the first vines were planted around 1310, the know-how in terms of viticulture dates from the 17th century and was transmitted by the monks of the Grande Chartreuse de Bordeaux, skilled winegrowers and fine winemakers. Today's men have inherited these ancestral techniques and have been able to bring this hint of innovation and modernity necessary to sublimate the character of this exceptional terroir. With a dark color, the red wine of La Louvière has an elegant nose, marked by delicate woody notes... Grape Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon 70% / Merlot 30% Tasting Note Appearance The appearance of this Château La Louvière 2014 is most attractive with its beautiful dark red color, where multiple purple reflections twirl. Nose The bouquet is powerful and racy, open on notes of roasting and smoke. Then rise, with elegance, notes of red fruits reminiscent of the very ripe grapes of this 2014 vintage. Stuffy The tannic structure is solid, of great power and of a level rarely equaled in recent years for this cru. It is above all the testimony of the precise and meticulous work carried out in the cellars in order to extract the best from the grapes. Its freshness gives it length and will allow it to face the years without any problem. To appreciate the nobility of this wine, it will be served with partridges roasted with grapes, a fillet of beef with duck foie gras, or even as a starter, on cocotte eggs with truffles. |
